# Hong Kong Court Convicts Two Tiananmen Vigil Organizers of Inciting Subversion

West Kowloon Court in Hong Kong found Chow Hang-tung, a human rights lawyer who conducted her own defense, and Lee Cheuk-yan, a former opposition lawmaker, guilty of inciting subversion on Friday. Both organized the annual vigil that commemorated the 1989 crackdown in Beijing's Tiananmen Square until authorities banned it. The charge carries up to ten years in prison. The judges did not read out their reasoning and said the full judgment would be posted later. Sentencing will follow at a later date.
