# Ukraine Hits Russian E-Commerce Warehouses for a Third Night as Moscow Strikes Odesa's Port

Drones burned Ozon logistics centres in Adygea and Stavropol covering more than 90,000 square metres each, while Russia's defence ministry said it struck the Yuzhny port and the substation that powers it.

Ukrainian drones struck warehouses belonging to Ozon, Russia's largest online retailer, for a third consecutive night. The Russian independent outlet Ostorozhno Novosti [reported](https://t.me/ostorozhno_novosti/53924) that the head of Adygea, Murat Kumpilov, confirmed a fire at an Ozon logistics centre in the Takhtamukaysky district after an overnight attack, with staff evacuated. [RBC-Ukraine put the targets](https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/two-major-ozon-warehouses-attacked-in-russia-1787536448.html) at a facility near Enem in Adygea of roughly 91,200 square metres and a fulfilment centre in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai, of 93,514 square metres. TASS said flight restrictions imposed overnight at several Russian airports [were later lifted](https://tass.ru/obschestvo/28038321).

Russia's defence ministry said its forces struck the Yuzhny port in Odesa region along with the Adzhalyk 330 kilovolt substation that supplies it, [according to Kommersant](https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/8906719). A fire was also reported at a logistics site in Odesa.

Both sides reported civilian deaths. Krasnodar regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev said drone debris fell on a private children's centre and killed two children, [The Hindu reported](https://www.thehindu.com/news/international/russia-says-ukrainian-drone-strike-kills-two-children/article71383092.ece), a claim Kyiv has not addressed. RIA Novosti [reported](https://ria.ru/20260824/melitopol-2112726582.html) that a man was killed when an apartment building in Melitopol was hit. Independent verification of casualty accounts from either side is not currently available.

The target selection has shifted. Warehouses, ports and substations are not front-line assets. They are the infrastructure underlying ordinary commerce and exports in both economies.

## What this means

Attacks on distribution centres and grain-handling ports raise the operating cost of ordinary commerce far from the front. Russian retailers face inventory losses and insurance that domestic underwriters increasingly price as war risk, while damage to Odesa's port and its power supply constrains Ukrainian grain and container exports, which matters for buyers in North Africa and the Middle East. Each mass-casualty claim also makes a negotiated pause less likely in the near term.
