Israeli Strikes Kill Eight in Gaza Days After Hamas Disarmament Framework

Israeli forces killed at least eight Palestinians in strikes across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Gaza's civil defense said, two days after a 15-point roadmap for implementing last year's ceasefire was published by the Board of Peace, the body established under Trump's plan. The strikes hit homes and continued a pattern of Israeli operations despite diplomatic announcements.

Hamas and other Palestinian factions agreed to a document setting out a disarmament plan that Trump called a monumental step, with a detailed plan due within 14 days subject to approval by an international verification body. The central dispute remains unresolved. Hamas says it will place its weapons in storage only after Israel halts operations and withdraws under last year's agreement, while an Israeli official said there would be no withdrawal from current positions until Hamas undergoes what the official called genuine disarmament.

The disagreement is over sequence, and it is the same disagreement that has blocked implementation before. A framework exists in writing, but the fighting has not stopped and neither side has agreed to move first.
